Judge Training for List 6-3a in the UK

This is a call for expressions of interest from all Trainee judges and judges from List 6-3 for judge training in the UK.

The plan is to attend a UK Regional Finals in February/March, 2020 (when flights are cheaper).

The intention is to provide a unique and exciting opportunity for judges on List 6-3a to avail of training specially provided in the UK, observing and judging a wide range of different horse/rider combinations making for a fantastic learning experience!

    •  Open to all listed DI judges and Trainee judges and counts towards National Judge Training Day requirement.
    • Judge training will be free of charge.

    • Flights to UK and accommodation to be booked by the individual.
    • Shared car hire to accommodation and venue may be arranged depending on numbers and flight co-ordination.

For those judges interested, please contact  DI Judges Committee contact/co-ordinator: John Lyttle at johnlyttle@eircom.net  for further information or questions.

National Judge Training 2020

Training dates for List 1/2 for 2020 are as follows:

  • Addington High Profile, January 2020
  • Myerscough Premier League, March 2020
  • Keysoe Premier League, April 2020.

List 3/4 National Judge Training will be organised in the Munster region in February/March 2020.

More National Judge Training will be announced when the Autumn/Winter show schedule is published.

Exams

The Judges Committee has decided that from 2020 examinations to List 6 will be held at the National Winter Finals at Cavan, usually held at the beginning of April.  All Trainee judges wishing to sit this exam should send in the Upgrading form by 1st October, 2019  and commence their practice judging and training requirements as soon as they can.

Exams from List 5 to List 3a will be held, as usual, at the National Championships in 2020.

From 2020 onwards, all exam fees will be 120.

Reminder - Test Sheets

On several occasions, it has been noticed that some sheets have been marked without whole numbers (6.0, 7.0, 8.0) being written in. When reviewing your sheets before sending them to the scorers, please be aware of this and instruct your scribe to always write whole numbers.

Trainee Judges

Trainee judges whose application was approved in 2018 and have not taken the exam, need to re-apply for another 2 year cycle in 2020.

There will be an Introduction to Dressage Judging presented by Dermot Cannon at 19:30 on Thursday 24th October 2019 at The Meadows EC, Co. Armagh. This is open to all interested parties.

Trainee judges, please take note of Exams section above.
