The Development Series will include all levels from Preliminary to Grand Prix and is open to all DI members.
The highlight of the Development Series is the 4, 5 and 6 year old young horse classes: this will include ponies (horses entered in these classes must be foaled in Ireland and be registered with an Irish horse registration passport). There will also be a prize at each level for the top Irish bred horse at the finals. The Breeders of the winning horses holding a Department of Agriculture Food and Marine Irish Passport in the 4, 5 and 6 year old classes will receive a prize of €350.
The 4 y.o. will ride the Prelim qualifier test, 5 y.o. will ride the Novice qualifier test & the 6 y.o. will ride the Elem qualifier test.
This series will not be broken into any categories and all riders and horses must be full members of Dressage Ireland prior to close of entries.
Combinations can only ride two tests on any one day.
The series will have 5 qualifiers from which one test at all levels up to Grand Prix will be a qualifier for the Final at Greenogue.
The top four at each level will automatically qualify for the final; if a rider and horse combination is already qualified the qualification place will pass down the line. Combinations must compete in at least two qualifiers to be eligible for the final.
Prize Fund at each qualifier is €2,000
Prize fund at the final is €10,000
Whips & Commanders are allowed at the Qualifying rounds but ARE NOT allowed at the Finals.
